Outdoor Skating Comes to Whistler
Nothing says Canada more than skating outdoors and Whistler has finally filled this niche. Judging by the constant flux of folk out there, it's been an instant hit. Set in the Whistler Olympic Plaza (spot of the Olympic Medal Ceremonies) - it's prime location is popular for tourists and locals alike.
A fantastic venue for visitors to get a taste of skating and families to have another free, non skiing activity. The main rink is quite small but also has a curved track along the outside which is fun to lap around, and you can't beat the view of the surrounding mountains. The vibe is spectacular at night when it's bathed in coloured light.
Admission is free and skate rentals cheap ($5) if you don't have your own. They have push bars for the little guys too. Grab a hot chocolate from Blenz or a Blizzard from Dairy Queen afterwards!
