WHISTLER & AREA TRAILS

EASY TO MODERATE

Please follow the basic rules of the trail: keep to the right, share the trail, leash your dogs, and clean up after them using the waste bags and bear-proof bins provided.

VALLEY TRAIL
The Valley Trail, is one of Whistler's most popular attractions. This paved, three-metre wide, multipurpose trail with easy grades currently runs 35 kilometers from the Spring Creek area to Green Lake and Emerald Estates. The trail connects all subdivisions to the destination parks (Alpha Lake, Wayside, Lakeside, Rainbow, Meadow Park and Lost Lake parks), the village core and Whistler Creek.

LOST LAKE TRAILS
There are more than 30km of trails in Lost Lake Park. Flat, steep, easy, difficult: Whistler's Lost Lake trails will lure you through the forest and around the lake. Pack a lunch, get a snack at the concession or use one of the BBQs available at the park and enjoy views of Lost Lake. Washrooms facilities are available at the ticket booth and across from the Summer Concession at the Lake. Click here for the Lost Lake Trail Map.

WHISTLER BLACKCOMB ALPINE HIKING & SIGHTSEEING
The Whistler Gondola will bring you up to 6,000ft at the Roundhouse Lodge where you'll enjoy spectacular views of Whistler and Fitzsimmons Valley, the Spearhead Range and surrounding glaciers. Take in the 360 degree views, enjoy a casual picnic at the Peak, stroll the Peak Interpretive Walk or have an adventure by hiking the High Note Trail or one of 14 other trails. Hiking Trails.

WHISTLER INTERPRETIVE FOREST
Across the highway from Function Junction, near the future Olympic Athletes Village. The trails extend throughout the forest alongside the Cheakamus River, allowing visitors to experience the various forest conditions. The major trails are the Ridge and Riverside Trails which are connected to the Farside and Highline Trails by a new suspension bridge.

CHEAKAMUS LAKE
Further up the Cheakamus River are several hiking options. Drive 6km up the Cheakamus Lake Road to the parking lot. Short, flat hike to the north end of Cheakamus Lake, and approx. 1 hour to the south end. Trails are in Garibaldi Provincial Park, so please no dogs allowed.

BRANDYWINE FALLS/CALCHEAK
Approximately 15 minutes south of Whistler is the majestic Brandywine Falls. A short walking trail leads from the parking lot at Brandywine Falls Provincial Park to an observation platform at the top of the falls. The spectacular 70 metre waterfall is best seen from this viewpoint, which also presents some marvelous views of Daisy Lake, Black Tusk and the surrounding mountains. Cross the bridge over Brandywine Creek and then follow the trail to the right, which in 10 minutes will bring you to a clearing beside the falls.

NAIRN FALLS
Just 20 minutes north of Whistler is Nairn Falls Park. Enjoy a short 1.5 km nature walk along the lower Green River, through an aromatic West Coast cedar forest. The viewpoint is 180 feet above the thundering water falls below.

ANCIENT CEDARS
On Cougar Mountain, just north of Green Lake in Whistler. A short but impressive walk through magnificent cedar trees that are hundreds of years old. Take the Cougar Mountain gravel road 1km north of Emerald Estates. Keep to the right when the road forks. The Ancient Cedars loop (4km) starts at the Showh Lakes as the road turns to trail.
